So the take-down process of my classroom started today. The great thing about 6th graders is that, with the proper rules in place, I can get them to take care of most of it. In fact, they WANT to help. So instead of getting up on 6 different tables and pulling down 30 different globes hanging from the ceiling, I prefaced the request with "how not to be inappropriate while standing on a desk," and had them take the globes down themselves. It was a win/win situation. They did all the work, and they got to stand on their desks.
